Rick Prokop, pianist, jazz-pianist, teacher and composer has taught piano for over forty years. He received a B.F.A. in Piano/Performance at SUNY Purchase and has had his own piano tuning/repair business in Westchester County since 1977. He also taught as an adjunct professor of mathematics at Westchester Community College. In addition to his private teaching, he was a faculty member at The Music Conservatory of Westchester and performed regularly in the White Plains area where he currently lives with his wife Betsy.
In 2015, Rick was offered the job of Chief Concert Technician at the SUNY Performing Arts Center in Purchase, NY. It was there that he met the Grammy-Award-Winning producer, Adam Abeshouse, and became the exclusive tuner at Abeshouse Productions for the next seven years.
Rick’s other interests include playing pool and photography.
